New Job shouldn’t be a hurdle for Andy

Former international hurdler Andy Clark has struck gold by joining the team at rapidly expanding creative and design consultancy b1.

The 33-year-old former 400 metre hurdler who represented Great Britain in the Youth World Championships was fast out of the blocks when the job of production designer came up at the Bromsgrove-based agency.

He joins the team at b1 following the consultancy’s success in securing work with brands such as the iconic Italian manufacturer De’Longhi, Harman Kardon, the Lovell Parternship and Tarmac.

Mr Clark, who lives at Catshill, near Bromsgrove, is responsible for b1’s print buying and all aspects of pre-press as well as working with the creative design team.

"I am very competitive and want to be on a winning team so this opportunity to join such a go-ahead and expanding business was just what I’ve been waiting for," said Mr Clark, who is a graduate in graphic design from Middlesex University and has worked for the past eight years as a pre-press manager for a Birmingham-based printer.

A hamstring injury forced Mr Clark to give up sprinting but he is taking up the triathlon and soon hopes to be running or cycling from home to b1’s new £500,000 headquarters at Stoke Prior.

Jason Manning, b1 managing director, said: "We are running for gold and our people are the key to success so bringing a winner like Andy on to the team is a great signing."
